Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750 In-Depth Review

Inks

Surely you can surmise from the title and the previously listed pros that the ink system is the star of the show when it comes to the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750. It comes with so many remarkable properties that increase your paper yield and make your experience way more enjoyable.

System

So, what’s the ink-system that you get when you purchase the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750? You get a five-ink-system with two bottles of each of the five colors. This includes the dye CMYK inks and photo-specific pigment black for achieving that extra mile quality with your unique images.

This is one of the greatest contributors to removing the shock of the hefty initial price tag, as you see that you receive quite a package when you decide to invest in this printer.

Monitoring

Additionally, Epson has added a physical monitoring aspect to its printer by placing the ink tanks right in front of you on the printer’s anterior aspect.

Hence, you don’t have to rely entirely on statistics shown by sensors; you can see for yourself how much ink you’re using/saving. That’ll definitely give users a sense of security in knowing when to re-purchase their inks or slow down their usage.

Refill

With most other printers, this aspect, the refill, is a mini horror movie from the possibility of you putting ink in the wrong tank and ruining the whole patch, to having stains and drips all over your hands and the surrounding surfaces, finishing with several streaky tests in order to make sure that your next print will do the job.

Luckily, Epson has done it’s ultimate best to see to those difficulties and relieve its clients from it. Firstly, the tanks, along with the corresponding ink bottles, have a key nozzle system, meaning that the ink bottle will only latch on to the corresponding tank. If you put it on the wrong one, no ink will flow out, so you’re on the safe side, saving you a lot of ink.

Secondly, each tank has an automatic valve that closes whenever the tank is filled, preventing spills and messes.

Thirdly, through our and others’ experiences, we’ve found that starting from the very first test after the refill, streaks are a thing of the past. You’ll get your perfect output from the very first try. One last thing to add is the ink changing time, which adds up to only seven minutes.

Speed

This printer is designed to be a heavy-duty device, and although the pages-per-minute isn’t a striking rate, it’s certainly more than adequate. At 28 ppm on a normal setting, and 5.5 ppm for duplex mode, you’ll be done in no time.

Functions

As previously mentioned, this printer is an all-in-one printer, meaning that it can copy, scan, and print without problem. Unfortunately, though, it cannot fax, so you’ll need to make sure that faxing is not a requirement for your office/house when deciding on this printer.

Now, we’ll talk a little bit more specifically on what it can print. The Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750 will deal with any paper ranging from envelope size all the way to A3/tabloids. Also, it comes with an auto-duplex printing option for printing both sides of the paper. The yield produced from one refill is 3400 papers, which is definitely more than enough.

Keep in mind that it can print glossy pictures with exceptionally high-quality, thanks to the special black pigment. Nevertheless, that’s only for smaller sized papers as A3s are excluded from this feature.

One last thing is that it has a special tray for CDs and DVDs so that you can decorate them accordingly.

Control Panel

The first discouraging feature regarding the control panel is that the screen is not a touch screen; you’ll have to deal manually from the keypad. Nonetheless, you’re still provided with a 6.8 inch LCD screen, which makes readability quite adequate. The only problem that comes with this screen is that it lies in the way of the front tray, so you’ll have to tilt it in order to access the said tray.

Connection

The connection capabilities of the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750 are rather primary. You can, of course, connect it through a USB cable that you’ll need to purchase individually as it does not come included in the box.

Moreover, you can connect it through Wi-Fi; however, the Epson app does little to help you, as it offers no automatic connections. You still have to input your password and set up your device manually.

One impressive feature, though, is the presence of an SD card slot that provides fast and easy on-the-spot print jobs.

On the other hand, an underwhelming feature is that it is not compatible with NFC. So, printing directly from your phone is not an option. It also doesn’t have a parallel port, so if you have some type of computer that’s not equipped with a serial port, better look elsewhere.

Build

Inkjet printers are, overall, quite bulky, especially when they have more than one paper tray. Nevertheless, the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750 is relatively compact if closed. Additionally,  most of it is made out of durable, robust materials that will take quite a beating.

However, the trays, especially the rear one which takes A3 sized papers, can be quite flimsy as they’re made out of plastic, and extended into the air, supported almost by nothing. This makes them a lot more prone to destructive accidents.

Amazon Reviews

The Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750 comes with an Amazon rating of 4.1 stars, which is rather impressive at its level of competition. But, again, it does come with a plethora of remarkable features, such as it’s 1200×2400 dpi scanning resolution and 5760×1440 dpi printing resolution, which both produce excellent output.

Final Thoughts

We’ve reached the end of our article discussing the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750 Review. To wrap it up, we’ll say that the king of ink saving has well deserved its title and place. The package included is impressive, to say the least; with two bottles of each ink plus a special black pigment for extra special print jobs, you’ll never be at a loss for ink.

Initially, the cost might be a shock, yet you’ll get 3400 papers out of each refill when you see that you’ll get on board with the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-7750. Just remember that it can’t fax, print A3 glossy pictures, or use NFC.
